Tayara means 'airplane' in Arabic.
This blog is about airplanes and anything that involves them.
It is mostly about Commercial Aviation, but also General and, occasionally, Military.
During my travels around the world I take pictures and video as a hobby of everything and anything related. I also include some acquaintances’ contributions from time to time, giving them proper credit.
Please, feel free to comment or suggest on my posts.

China Southern Airbus 321/200 B-6663 / 2014.12.16
ICN-CAN—Flight CZ340, Seoul (Incheon)-Guangzhou
If the day is not too hazy and you're sitting on the right side of the plane, you can have a nice panoramic moving view of the city of Guangzhou and the Pearl river on approach to CAN. Spectacular! Seen from seat 37K on board China Southern (中国南方航空) Airbus 321/200 B-6663.
Iberia Airbus 330-300 EC-LYF / 2015.05.14
MIA (Miami International airport. Miami, United States)
Yup, I got it again! Second time I catch Iberia Airbus 330-300 EC-LYF ('Juan Carlos I'), this time about to land from MAD (Madrid) as Flight IB6123. This was the first one in the company to wear the current paint scheme, and also the one that transported the Spanish Football team to Brazil for the 2014 World Cup. Looks shiny and neat...
Avior Boeing 737-400 YV2946 / 2015.05.14
MIA (Miami International airport. Miami, United States)
Avior Airlines Boeing 737-400 YV2946, departing as Flight 9V1221 to BLA (Barcelona, Venezuela) from runway 12, while a United Express Bombardier also takes off from 8R. This was the first B737-400 ever built by Boeing with the registration N73700, back in 1988, and it previously flew for Piedmont Airlines and USAir (then USAirways) before finding a new life in Venezuela.
Airport Highlight: MIA (Miami International airport. Miami, United States) / 2011.05.07
MIA (Miami International airport. Miami, United States)
Airport Highlight: Miami.— MIA is arguably the only airport in the world where you can catch flights to two different Barcelonas: one in Spain, one in Venezuela. The former used to be served by Iberia (now it's American Airlines). The latter with Avior.
Delta Connection Saab 340B/Plus N451XJ / 2010.06.25
YXU (London International airport. London, Canada)
Delta Connection (Mesaba Airlines) Saab 340B/Plus N451XJ was recently repainted from the Northwest Airlink colors when I took this picture from inside the aircraft I was in. It didn't last long, since it was stored the next year and now is operating for Silver Airways with, obviously, a different livery.
Etihad Airbus 320/200 A6-EIF / 2011.04.02
AUH (Abu Dhabi International airport. Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates)
Boarding Time Photo Op.—Just as I stepped off the bus that took us to the plane, I began to take pictures. I find this paint scheme so elegant. But it's being changed into a new one quickly now.
Etihad Airways (الإتّحاد) Airbus 320/200 A6-EIF, bound for HBE (Alexandria Borg El Arab) as Flight EY663.
American Boeing 757-200 N188AN / 2015.05.07
MIA (Miami International airport. Miami, United States)
I love it when the weather gets stormy in the afternoon this time of the year in Miami. How many shades of grey can you spot on this picture, including the ones on the aircraft? American Airlines Boeing 757-200 N188AN about to land shortly before the rain.
COPA Boeing 737/200 HP1311CMP / 1998.11.25
CCS (Simón Bolívar International airport. Caracas, Venezuela)
Who remembers COPA's old colors? Nothing to do with what we see today. I took this picture the same year the company initiated a new era after its partnership and strategic alliance with Continental, which resulted in a new branding and logo. Boeing 737/200 HP1311CMP is seen here getting ready for its early morning Flight CM220 to PTY (Panama City). (Scanned from print copy).
Southwest Boeing 737-700 N7719A / 2015.05.08
FLL (Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood International airport. Fort Lauderdale, United States)
Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-700 N7719A is the first one I catch with the new livery. I didn't expect it... I didn't even remember at that point that the company recently changed its paint scheme, so it was a nice surprise.
Lufthansa Airbus 380-800 D-AIMJ / 2015.05.09
MIA (Miami International airport. Miami, United States)
On time departure for Lufthansa Airbus 380-800 D-AIMJ ('Brüssel') as Flight LH463 back to FRA (Frankfurt). The tail is so shiny that you can even see the reflection of the right wing on it. I arrived at the spot right on time to prepare myself for the shot and even saw it taxi from the gate. It paid off!
British Airways Boeing 747-400 G-CIVC / 2015.05.07
MIA (Miami International airport. Miami, United States)
It was worth waiting inside the car for the storm to pass. Just a few minutes after the operations were back at Miami airport, I saw the daily British Airways Jumbo coming as the rainbow was beginning to shine. The moment was perfect for Boeing 747-400 G-CIVC wearing the One World Alliance colors to make this stunning picture possible, as it was putting an end to Flight BA209 from LHR (London Heathrow).

Air Berlin Airbus 330-300 D-ALPI / 2015.05.05
RSW (Southwest Florida International airport. Fort Myers, United States)
Air Berlin heavy from and to DUS (Düsseldorf) is, undoubtedly, the king at (RSW) Ft. Myers. Airbus 330-300 D-ALPI seen performing a smooth landing as Flight AB7008. This picture was worth a visit by the Lee County Port Authority Police. They spotted me shortly after I arrived at the place and paid me a visit, but were kind enough to let me photograph the aircraft before they kicked me out of there in a very polite way.
