No, this is not Mars (they haven't conclusively found water on Mars yet anyway). This is Maharlu Lake, and its red color is due to the water extreme saltiness and the mineral sediments. Seen during approach from seat 7F on board Iran Aseman Airlines (هواپیمایی آسمان ایرانن) Boeing 727-200Adv EP-ASD. ✈
