Tayara means 'airplane' in Arabic.

This blog is about airplanes and anything that involves them.

It is mostly about Commercial Aviation, but also General and, occasionally, Military.

During my travels around the world I take pictures and video as a hobby of everything and anything related. I also include some acquaintances’ contributions from time to time, giving them proper credit.

Please, feel free to comment or suggest on my posts.

Continental Boeing 777-200ER N78013 / 2009.02.19

IAH (George Bush Intercontinental airport. Houston, United States)
'I always find this fascinating', once told me a fellow passenger when taxiing on a highway overpass. It certainly is, and it's also a sign that you've reached a developed country. I always remember that person's words, and I can't help but taking a picture every time I see it. As seen on board Continental Airlines Boeing 777-200/ER N78013, upon arrival from LHR (London Heathrow) as Flight CO033.

SVMY (San Juan de Manapiare airport. San Juan de Manapiare, Venezuela)
As our Piper Lancer II YV1802 was getting loaded before departing for its flight back to PYH (Puerto Ayacucho), I got the chance to take this close up inside the hangar. It marked the end of a two-week trekking adventure through the Orinoco jungle to visit remote indigenous communities.

Xiamen Air Boeing 757-200 B-2862 / 2014.10.07

PEK (Capital International airport. Beijing, China)
I'm so used now to see Boeing 757's with winglets, that this one kind of shocked me. Lovely look, by the way. Xiamen Air (厦门航空) has been named six times 'The Best Airline in Mainland China'. This is one of the carrier's Boeing 757-200's, B-2862, which turned 10 years old shortly before I took this picture.

Piedmont Boeing 737-200 / 1988.03.08

CLT-JFK—Flight PI452, Charlotte-New York City (John F. Kennedy)
As we were about to land after a rather bumpy flight from North Carolina, the air over Manhattan was clear. As I used to do until the last time I saw the Twin Towers from an aircraft (June 2001), I couldn't resist but to have a glance at them, and this time I took a picture as the sun was setting. Seen from a Piedmont Airlines Boeing 737-200.
