Tayara means 'airplane' in Arabic.

This blog is about airplanes and anything that involves them.

It is mostly about Commercial Aviation, but also General and, occasionally, Military.

During my travels around the world I take pictures and video as a hobby of everything and anything related. I also include some acquaintances’ contributions from time to time, giving them proper credit.

Please, feel free to comment or suggest on my posts.

Hong Kong Express Airbus 320-200 B-LCF / 2016.02.25

HKG (Chep Lap Kok International airport. Hong Kong, China)
Hong Kong Express Airways (香港快運航空) Airbus 320-200 B-LCF initiating her flight to KIX (Osaka Kansai) as UO1686. The aircraft had been operating for the carrier for only nine months when I took this picture.

Emirates Airbus 380-800 A6-EEY / 2016.03.16

DXB (Dubai International airport. Dubai, United Arab Emirates)
Hanging around Terminal 1 (the old, original building) at DXB (Dubai International) is a gift for your eyes... and your camera lens. A nonstop parade of A380's and B777's. This one I caught in the early morning hours: Emirates (الإمارات) Airbus 380-800 A6-EEY initiates taxi procedures.

Mahan Air Airbus 300B4 EP-MNN / 2016.03.01

THR (Tehran Mehrabad International airport. Tehran, Iran)
After a brief spotting session, this was the only heavy inbound, and only appeared as we were leaving the place. But it was memorable. Mahan Air (هواپیمایی ماهان) Airbus 300B4 EP-MNN first operated for Emirates in 1993, then Lufthansa in 2002. In service for the Iranian carrier since May 2010. I caught her while on finals over Tehran's Fath square and Sa'idi Expressway.

Private Cessna 208B Grand Caravan HI754 / 2012.12.01

PAP (Toussaint Louverture International airport. Port-au-Prince, Haiti)
This Cessna 208B Grand Caravan appeared to me like a scheduled service to the Haitian capital from the neighboring Dominican Republic, yet all records I can find list HI754 as a 'privately owned' aircraft. Seen here taxiing upon arrival.

SAS Boeing 737-800 LN-RGE / 2016.03.13

ARN (Arlanda airport. Stockholm, Sweden)
One of the few moments during my whole spotting day that we could get some rays of sun. It was worth the wait. SAS Scandinavian Airlines Boeing 737-800 LN-RGE ('Egil Viking') about to land on 19L.

Iraqi Airways Boeing 777-200LR YI-AQZ / 2016.02.27

KUL (Kuala Lumpur International airport. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)
Iraqi Airways (الخطوط الجوية العراقية) Boeing 777-200/LR YI-AQZ looks young and bright under the tropical sun while sitting on a side of the tarmac, waiting for her next flight to BGW (Baghdad).

Turkish Airlines Boeing 777-300ER TC-JJN / 2016.03.10

IST (Atatürk airport. Istanbul, Turkey)
"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is the movie to watch these days. Turkish Airlines (Türk Hava Yolları) applied this special livery promoting the event to its Boeing 777-300/ER TC-JJN ('Anadolu'). Superman is on the port side. I caught her at home in IST (Istanbul Atatürk) while preparing for her next flight.

Pouya Air Antonov 74TK-200 EP-PUA / 2016.03.01

IIL (Shohada airport. Ilam, Iran)
Pouya Air Antonov 74TK-200 EP-PUA proudly shows her unusual design while awaiting at the tarmac during her turnaround from and to THR (Tehran Mehrabad). Flight PY2354 inbound, PY2355 outbound. You cannot see this aircraft and ignore it.

TUI Boeing 767-300ER OO-JNL / 2016.03.26

MIA (Miami International airport / Wilcox Field. Miami, United States)
Because of the bombings at BRU (Brussels) on 03.22 and the temporary airport closing, some airlines have rescheduled their flights in and out of other locations in Belgium. This is one of them. TUI Airlines Belgium (JetairFly) Boeing 767-300/ER OO-JNL ('Sunshine') taxies for departure to OST (Ostend–Bruges) as Flight JA618. Of course, a very unusual route from MIA (Miami).

Finnair Embraer 190LR OH-LKE / 2016.03.15

HEL (Helsinki-Vantaa airport. Helsinki, Finland)
Finnair's Embraer 190LR OH-LKE is one of the many of this Brazilian-built aircraft type that you can easily spot when in the Finnish capital main airport.

Iran Air Cargo Boeing 747-200 EP-ICD / 2016.02.29

THR (Tehran Mehrabad International airport. Tehran, Iran)
Awesome light for an awesome aircraft. Iran Air (هواپیمايی جمهوری اسلامی ایران) Cargo Boeing 747-200 EP-ICD was built in 1988 and has served a total of five airlines (Martinair Holland, Qantas, Singapore Airlines, ACT Airlines and Ankair) before arriving in Iran in 2009.

ARN (Arlanda airport. Stockholm, Sweden)
SAS Scandinavian Airlines Airbus 330-300X LN-RKR ('Tore Viking') performs a smooth landing, thin contrails included, on a cold morning. This aircraft only started operating six months before I took this picture.

Belavia Boeing 737-300 EW-282PA / 2016.03.04

KBP (Boryspil International airport. Kiev, Ukraine)
The first Belavia Belarusian Airlines (Авіякампанія Белавія) aircraft on my blog is this Boeing 737-300. EW-282PA started her life with Continental Airlines in 1995 as N17386. Then, she briefly served Buzz and Ryanair (both in 2003) and Air China (2004-2009) before operating for the Belarusian state-owned carrier.

Meraj Air Airbus 320-200 EP-AJI / 2016.03.01

THR (Tehran Mehrabad International airport. Tehran, Iran)
In 2015, Meraj Airlines (هواپیمایی معراج) decided to support the Wildlife Conservation Program by painting its Airbus 320-200 EP-AJI's nose with an Iranian cheetah's face. This animal is a critically endangered subspecies surviving only in Iran. Great initiative that brings color and life to the skies.

Air Asia X Airbus 330-300X 9M-XXF / 2016.02.25

KUL (Kuala Lumpur International airport. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)
Air Asia X Airbus 330-300X 9M-XXF ('Northern Xposure') taxies to the runway, sporting its attractive paint scheme promoting tourism in Malaysia, and of course the airline.

SVO (Sheremetyevo International airport. Moscow, Russia)
Boarding Time Photo Op.– I was thrilled the moment I realized we were going to board the airplane on the ramp, in the middle of a snowstorm… So Russia! Great and unforgettable moment. I couldn’t ask for more.
