Tayara means 'airplane' in Arabic.
This blog is about airplanes and anything that involves them.
It is mostly about Commercial Aviation, but also General and, occasionally, Military.
During my travels around the world I take pictures and video as a hobby of everything and anything related. I also include some acquaintances’ contributions from time to time, giving them proper credit.
Please, feel free to comment or suggest on my posts.

Nok Air Boeing 737-800 HS-DBP / 2014.12.08
HKT (Phuket International airport. Phuket, Thailand)
Quack, quack... Creative and funny at the same time, Nok Air (นกแอร์) aircrafts sure are entertaining and easy to spot when you are at any airport around Thailand. Boeing 737-800 HS-DBP ('Nok Petchnaamngern') seen here shortly after arrival and on its way to the gate.
Qatar Airways Boeing 777-300/ER A7-BAO / 2015.06.02
MIA (Miami International airport. Miami, United States)
Qatar Airways (القطرية) was voted last week 2015 World's Best Airline at the prestigious Skytrax World Airline Awards for its superb quality in service. Boeing 777-300/ER A7-BAO enters the runway just seconds from take-off as Flight QR778 to DOH (Doha).
Norwegian Boeing 787-8 EI-LNA / 2015.07.03
FLL (Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood International airport. Fort Lauderdale, United States)
I wanted to catch this one long ago. Last Friday all elements (but the light) were in place to get Norwegian Air Shuttle's beautiful Dreamliner as it was wrapping up Flight DY7031 from OSL (Oslo). Boeing 787-8 EI-LNA bears the picture of Norwegian olympic champion Sonja Henie.
Swiss Airbus 330-300 HB-JHB / 2015.07.03
FLL (Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood International airport. Fort Lauderdale, United States)
A huge storm in the MIA (Miami) area produced some interesting diversions to FLL (Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood) last Friday afternoon. It's not usual to spot a Swiss aircraft at this airport: This one was a result of that event. Airbus 330-300 HB-JHB ('Sion') about to take off for a 12-minute flight to its final destination in neighboring MIA as Flight LX064 from ZRH (Zürich), after holding on the ground here for about two hours.
Etihad Airbus 320-200 A6-EIF / 2011.04.02
AUH-HBE—Flight EY663, Abu Dhabi-Alexandria (Borg El Arab)
The landmark control tower at AUH (Abu Dhabi) arises majestically from the desert sand and is a beautiful sight from the right window of your aircraft during take off. Seen from seat 7F on board Etihad Airways (الاتحاد ) Airbus 320-200 A6-EIF.
TAME Airbus 320-200 HC-CGW / 2015.02.11
UIO (Mariscal Sucre International airport. Quito, Ecuador)
TAME Airbus 320-200 HC-CGW promoting Ecuador with 'allyouneedisecuador.travel', 'Ministerio del Deporte. Ecuador va con Ustedes' (Ministry of Sport. Ecuador is with You), and 'Transportador Oficial de la Selección de Ecuador' (Official Carrier of the National Team) stickers, all of them as part of the country's efforts to promote its tourism industry internationally, and also because this was the aircraft that transported the national Ecuadorian team to and from Brazil in 2014 for the FIFA World Cup Championship.
KLM Boeing 747-400M PH-BFT / 2014.10.07
PEK (Capital International airport. Beijing, China)
KLM Boeing 747-400M PH-BFT ('City of Tokyo') rotating for AMS (Amsterdam) as Flight KL898. A closer look shows this aircraft was in need of a new paint job. Well, just a few weeks after I took this picture, PH-BFT was the first KLM B-747 to wear the revised livery of the Dutch carrier.
Air Transat Airbus 310-300 C-GTSX / 2010.07.25
YUL (Pierre Elliott Trudeau International airport. Montréal, Canada)
Always nice to find an Airbus 310-300 on my database. This Air Transat, C-GTSX, previously flew for Lufthansa, MEA and Air Madrid before joining the Canadian carrier on a lease. Sadly, it has been in storage for over two years now.
EgyptAir Boeing 737-500 SU-GBL / 2011.04.07
CAI (Cairo International airport)
Not used to see many 737's without winglets anymore, this one caught my attention as soon as I spotted it. EgyptAir (مصر للطيران) Boeing 737-500 SU-GBL waits ('blinded') for its next round. This aircraft, in service since May 1992, has been painted with three different color schemes for the Egyptian airline.
