Tayara means 'airplane' in Arabic.

This blog is about airplanes and anything that involves them.

It is mostly about Commercial Aviation, but also General and, occasionally, Military.

During my travels around the world I take pictures and video as a hobby of everything and anything related. I also include some acquaintances’ contributions from time to time, giving them proper credit.

Please, feel free to comment or suggest on my posts.

Airport Highlight: MVD (Montevideo Carrasco International airport) / 2011.10.30

Airport Highlight: MVD (Carrasco International airport).— The new terminal at the Uruguayan capital's airport was inaugurated in 2009, roughly two years before I got to visit it. Its striking design by renowned local architect Rafael Viñoly is already a landmark and the building is almost fully operated by renewable energies. The big roof of double curvature extends for almost 400 meters (1,300 feet) and it can handle up to 4.5 million passengers a year.
