Tayara means 'airplane' in Arabic.

This blog is about airplanes and anything that involves them.

It is mostly about Commercial Aviation, but also General and, occasionally, Military.

During my travels around the world I take pictures and video as a hobby of everything and anything related. I also include some acquaintances’ contributions from time to time, giving them proper credit.

Please, feel free to comment or suggest on my posts.

Cubana de Aviación Antonov An-24RV CU-T1294 / 2015.11.13

EYW (Key West International airport. Key West, United States)
Cubana Antonov An-24RV CU-T1294 deteriorating under the Florida heat, 12 years after its last flight. This aircraft was hijacked during a domestic flight in Cuba (GER-HAV, Nueva Gerona-Havana) and brought to EYW (Key West), where the hijacker surrendered and 15 of the 31 occupants asked for political asylum. The only non-Cuban passenger, an Italian tourist, decided to remain in the United States.
