Tayara means 'airplane' in Arabic.

This blog is about airplanes and anything that involves them.

It is mostly about Commercial Aviation, but also General and, occasionally, Military.

During my travels around the world I take pictures and video as a hobby of everything and anything related. I also include some acquaintances’ contributions from time to time, giving them proper credit.

Please, feel free to comment or suggest on my posts.

Florida Air Cargo Douglas DC-3 N271SE / 2016.04.20

OPF (Opa-Locka Executive airport. Miami, United States)
<The Classic Touch>
Florida Air Cargo Douglas C-47B Skytrain (DC-3) N271SE has been flying for 71 years... How about that? First delivered to the USAF (United States Air Force) in 1945, then was transferred to the RAF (Royal Air Force of the United Kingdom), and after World War II she did commercial service for a number of carriers in Europe. Went back to the United States in 1980. She is still operating as a cargo aircraft, mostly doing service to the Bahamas and back pretty regularly.
